The Life Time Kids Tri is a fun event for kids 7-14 years of age. Young athletes swim, bike and run in this event that promotes fitness and improves your child’s self confidence as they cross the finish line on their own.
Hyland’s Masters Athlete, Mike Ehredt, was at the first Life Time Kids Tri event of the summer in Winona, MN. He is an ambassador for this organization.
The kids started off with some fun in the pool. The younger kids had to swim 50 or 75 meters, and the older kids had to swim 100 meters.
From there, the kids went out to the bike area where there bikes are set up according to age. “They put on their shoes, buckle their helmet, and away they go.” Younger kids bike 2.5 miles while the older kids bike 5 miles.
And last but not least, the kids transitioned into the run portion of the event around the track. The younger kids ran half a mile and the older kids ran 1 mile.
Mike described the event perfectly. “This is awesome…I love coming to these events. The energy I get from the kids is kind of overwhelming and it reminds me of why I do the things I do. Kids are an inspiration, which is why this Life Time Kids Tri series is so amazing. It gets kids out, it gets them active, inspires your mom and dad, inspires our friends, and that’s a great thing.”
There are lots of more events this summer that the Life Time Kids Tri organization will be having. The next event is August 3 in Rochester Hills, MI. Check out their website for more events and details.
Get your kids active and have fun while doing it!
